Members from a drug trafficking gang transporting narcotics drugs to the Myanmar-India border were arrested in Mandalay along with 5.94 kilos of heroin and 30 bottles of PHENSEDYL, sources said.
A joint team consisting of the anti-narcotics traffic unit conducted a raid on a house located between 61 x 62 Street and 41(A) Road, Maha Myaing (2) Ward, Mahaaungmye Township, Mandalay Region at 4 pm on January 7 and found Saw Phyo Aung, Lin Lin Aung, Hlaing Phyo Htwe aka Ko Htwe and Aung Myo Thein aka Tarte, along with 5.94 kilos of heroin in 660 plastic soap cups and a TOYOTA CROWN vehicle.
According to further investigation, 30 more bottles of PHENSEDYL, each containing 100 ml, were seized from Saw Phyo Aung's home in Pyigyi Myatshin Ward, Chanayethazan Township at 4:30 pm on the same day.
The seized narcotics drugs were instructed to carry under the plan of Ko Sai aka Ar Chan lived in Nar Rai Ywar Thit Village, Namsan Township, Shan State (South), which is supervised by Aung Thu aka Sein Thaung of Chanayethazan Township and Saw Phyo Aung bought heroin from Mandalay before being transported to Tamu in the Myanmar-India border. They also transported PHENSEDYL from Kale and sold them in Mandalay. The authorities arrested Aung Thu and Thant Zin Tun, who sold heroin, near Lainli Village in Pinlaung Township, southern Shan State along with a SUZUKI Ciaz vehicle near and Hlaing Myo Tun aka Thi Loon, who sold PHENSEDYL, in Mintae Iking Ward, Chanayethazan Township. The arrested persons have been prosecuted and the perpetrators of the crimes are being investigated and identified.
