Four people including three employees from the Alliance Savings and Loan office in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region were arrested in connection with the burglary of the office, according to the release of the relevant groups.
When U Zaw Zaw Aung, manager of Alliance Savings and Loan office arrived at the office at 12 noon on January 9, U Khin Maung Kyi, who was the night watchman of the office, said two unidentified men dressed in black jackets and black trousers arrived in a vehicle at 12:30 am on January 8 saying they had come to check the guest list. They entered the office compound and opened the iron door of the office window with an iron bar. They took a LECCO-branded safe box containing 100,302,400 kyats in it and cut the CCTV cables and a CCTV recorder installed in the office. Upon learning that it had been taken, the manager went to the PyinOoLwin Township Police Station to file a report and the case was opened under Section 457/115 of the Penal Code at the PyinOoLwin Township Police Station.
In order to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the incident, the security forces examined the night watchman U Khin Maung Kyi, who was on night watch duty during the incident. He confessed that Aung Ko Ko, who is supervisor of the office and Nyein Chan Phyo aka Aikepi, who is in charge of the loan, arrived in a vehicle and said that they would steal the fire box in the office. If it is successful, they will give him 15 million kyats. They told him when asked by the officials, they convinced him to testify that money was taken away by the guest list inspection team under threat. The statement revealed that U Khin Maung Kyi would be paid 15 million kyats if the business was successful, and he concealed it without presenting the truth to the manager, U Zaw Zaw Aung, and to mislead the public about the security organizations.
According to the testimony of Khin Maung Kyi, the security forces searched the area in order to arrest the rest of the perpetrators, Aung Ko Ko, Nyein Chan Phyo aka Aikepi and Nay San Aye aka Kaderbai, who opened the safe box with a fake key, along with 99,702,400 kyats, a LECCO brand safe box, two laptops, an office landline phone, three office CCTVs, a green tape, a pair of scissors, a tablet, and two backpacks, were seized along with the vehicle, which was used during the crime.
In the process, when it was discovered that the three persons, Aung Ko Ko, Nyein Chan Phyo aka Aikepi and Khin Maung Kyi, had secretly committed the crime of stealing money from the Savings and Loan Office at night, to create illusions and lower confidence in security organizations that are engaged in community security and to conceal the crime they had committed, in order to undermine the trust and panic of the public and the police is continuing to take effective action on three perpetrators and their accomplice Nay San Aye aka Kaderbai in accordance with the law.
