Clashes continued in Muse 105-mile Myanmar-China border trade zone located at Mongyu Village, Muse Township, Muse District, northern Shan State on November 29 causing hundreds of locals stranded and three locals had bullet wounds.
“Three people who were fleeing from the war hit by bullets, one was injured at the stomach, and two were injured at hands. Two of them were sent to Shweli hospital. Social organizations from Muse did their best to save IDPs with the social organizations’ vehicles this morning but heavy fighting prevented them from going further. We had to stop at the Auktonkhan,” said a man helping IDPs told the Eleven Media.
Since the night of November 26, the fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Northern Alliance forces has been going on in the 105-mile trade zone for three days. Heavy weapon explosions, exchange of gunfire and drones and air strikes were taking place, according to a local from Mongyu Village.
“We are still lucky as we aren’t hit by bullets so far because we are hiding at Pan Myint Mo guesthouse. Some are sheltering at the Aung Thiri Monastery. Many IDPs are trapped in the fighting,” said a local from Mongyu.
As a result of the fighting, at least seven people including three children were killed and 18 were injured. In the Muse 105-mile Myanmar-China border trade zone, some buildings and trucks, buildings around the environs, Mongyu high school building, fire station, religious building, warehouses and houses were destroyed, and hundreds of locals fled from their homes.
Moreover, 128 trucks caught fire due to bomb explosions in the Seven Huaxi truck terminal near Kyinsankyawt gate in Muse, northern Shan State on November 23.
Since the beginning of October 27, the northern alliance forces: Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta’aung National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Arakan Army (AA), launched coordinated attacks on Laukkai, Kunlon, Hsenwi, Lashio, Kutkai and Namtkham including Chinshwehaw of Kokang Self- Administered Zone and the offensive fighting took place around the northern Shan State. The northern alliance forces stationed at Mongkoe-Mainghai border gate, Pansai (Kyukot)-Wangtain border gate, Muse Kyinsankyaut-Wantaing border gate, Chinshwehaw-Mongtain border gate along China-Myanmar border areas.
