Fires break out in Samsung Showroom and South Dagon’s factory

YANGON----- Fires occurred at Samsung Showroom on Theinbyu road in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township and a factory situated in South Dagon Township in Yangon Region yesterday.

The first fire broke out in Samsung Showroom on Theinbyu road in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township yesterday morning.

“We received an information reported that the fire occurred at Samsung Showroom. So, We together with the relevant fire brigade members arrived at the showroom. The fire brigade members extinguished the flames about 10 minutes,” said unidentified official from a rescue team.

The initial reports said that the cause of a fire was an electrical fault.

In the afternoon, another fire broke out in a factory situated on Bayintnaung Road in South Dagon Township.

South Dagon Township Fire Station sent fire engines to the scene and they put out the flames. The fire was classified as Level 1, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The Myanmar Fire Services Department said that stove fire and electricity fire are most common causes so officials have instructed people to use electricity carefully. Moreover, a fire prevention warning states that people may need to avoid using faulty electrical equipments.
