Hpa-an-Locals were seen in droves at prominent places in Hpa-an such as Kyauk-Kaluk, Kyarin hill, Kawkathaung, and Winkyun island to vent the COVID-19 stress and lockdown according to Hpa-an locals.

“As people are afraid of COVID-19 and they stay at home for over one year, people suffer stress. To ease the stress and as the number of infection has declined in Hpa-an, locals now visit prominent places such as namely  Kyauk-Kaluk, Kyarin hill, Kawkathaung, and Winkyun island for rest and recreation and also for health reason,” said local tourist guide Thitagu Lamin Htet.

Besides, there are villages easing their lockdowns at this time in Hpa-an, prompting locals to also visit these places with scenic beauty especially they visit Mizan island and  Kyarin hill rich with natural resources. Mizan Island and Winkyun island situated along Thanlwin River and their beauty is complete with background scenery such as hills and mountains. These places may support tourism in Kayin State according to locals.
