Three members of police force from Botahtaung police station giving special course in 2020 general election, and eight special trainees were found to have been infected with COVID-19 virus, according to the township MP, Daw May Soe.

She told the Daily Eleven on 11 October that a special course was conducted to 38 trainees for the 2020 general election at the No.3 Highschool in Botahtaung. The trainees are now kept in quarantine and the rest are awaiting their swab test results.

She also confirmed that the virus was also found in the Botahtaung Police Station.

"Assistance of the special police forces are required for the 2020 general election. Thirty-eight attended the course in which there were three instructors. All of them were kept in quarantine and all their swabs were checked. The results came in yesterday and eight showed to be COVID-19 positive," said Daw May Soe.
