Drugs worth over Ks170 m seized in Panglong Township, Shan State

The anti-narcotics police force arrested and seized stimulants worth more than Ks170 million in Panglong Township, Shan State. 

A search team comprising of anti-narcotic police members, while carrying out inspection on 14 August at about 4 pm along Panglong-Laihka Road, halted for inspection a Suzuki driven by 25 year old Aung Myo Lin from Ward-5, Miektila, and passenger Kaung Khan Kyaw, aged 26, coming from Laihka and going toward Panglong. 

Upon inspection, stimulants worth more than Ks170 million, found hidden, were seized. Upon further questioning it was known that the vehicle driven by 25 year old Aung Khine Myint of Ward-12, Katha, the owner of the drugs, was following behind. Aung Khine Myint was nabbed at the Loilem exit. 

Those connected with the seizure were booked under the drugs and psychotropic substances law by the Panglong police, and efforts are  being made to seize others connected.
