The World Food Programme (WFP) reports that the average price of basic food items in Myanmar has increased by 19 percent since late February.

According to the WFP, food prices have been rising nationwide alongside fuel costs, driven in part by the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Prices of key staples such as rice, palm oil, and salt have seen notable increases.

The agency added that it is closely monitoring the situation and stands ready to adjust its assistance to ensure vulnerable families can access sufficient food supplies.
