The authorities found a returnee from Bangladesh being infected with COVID-19 virus bringing the total number to 234, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the morning of June 4.
The announcement said a second batch of 684 samples tested at National Health Laboratory in Yangon on June 4 and found the patient. He was kept in quarantine at a quarantine center in Maungdaw Township.
A total of 1,862 samples: 1,339 tested at National Health Laboratory, 223 samples tested at Department of Medical Research, 65 samples tested at No.1 Military Hospital (Bed-1000) in Yangon and 278 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Mandalay, were made on the first and second batches for June 3 and finished on June 4, it said.
