Supporters of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) rallied near the Supreme Court of the Union in Na Pyi Taw on January 29.

The rallies came as a hearing took place via video conferencing before three judges of the Supreme Court to decide it would accept the writs filed against 15 persons including the President and Union Election Commission chair for alleged electoral fraud.

The USDP supporters went round in about 100 vehicles carrying the party flags and chanting slogans.

Meanwhile, security was tightened with heavy police presence around the Supreme Court starting from the roundabout where Office No.23 is located.

The convoy of the supporters also rallied on the road leading to the Supreme Court.

Those writs are a general civil suit (writ) with case No.198/2020 filed by lawyer Zaw Weik from Mandalay Region against for persons including the President, another general civil suit with case No.199/2020 filed by Thraysithu Soe Maung, chair of the Democratic Party of National Politics against 15 persons including UEC chairman Hla Thein and another suit with case No.203/2020 filed by USDP CEC member Hla Thein against 15 persons including UEC chair.
