UEC releases party vote share percentages for 2025 General Election

The Union Election Commission (UEC) on February 9 issued Announcement No. (34/2026), releasing the percentage of valid votes received by each political party in the 2025 multi-party democratic general election.

According to the statement, out of a total of 13,135,325 valid votes cast for all political parties and independent candidates, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) secured 5,804,025 votes, accounting for 44.19 percent of the valid votes.

The National Unity Party (NUP) received 1,744,943 valid votes, representing 13.28 percent, while another party received 1,155,817 valid votes, or 8.80 percent. The People’s Pioneer Party (PPP) obtained 1,000,815 valid votes, equivalent to 7.62 percent.

Similarly, the Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party (White Tiger Party) secured 802,414 valid votes, or 6.11 percent. The Myanmar Farmers Development Party gained 691,628 votes, representing 5.27 percent. The Pa-O National Organization (PNO) received 331,331 votes, or 2.52 percent, while the Mon Unity Party obtained 145,786 votes, accounting for 1.11 percent.

The Karen People’s Party secured 124,805 valid votes, or 0.95 percent, while the remaining 48 parties each received less than 0.95 percent of the valid votes.

Among 91 independent candidates who contested the election, only one candidate won a seat. Altogether, independent candidates received 303,085 valid votes, representing 2.31 percent of the total valid votes.

The UEC held the 2025 multi-party democratic general elections in phases starting December 28, 2025. The elections were conducted across 263 constituencies for the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House), 99 constituencies for the Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House), 297 constituencies for regional or state parliaments, and 29 ethnic affairs constituencies.

Candidates from 57 political parties and independent candidates contested the various parliamentary seats. The UEC has already announced the elected representatives, individual vote counts and percentages, and the number of seats won by each party. The latest release provides additional details including the number of constituencies contested by each party, the number of candidates fielded, total valid votes received, vote share percentages, and the number of winning parliamentary representatives.
