The Union Election Commission (UEC) has successfully compiled the population lists provided by the Central Committee for Field Collection into the Central Voter List Management System (CVLMS), according to UEC Chairman U Ko Ko.

Chairman U Ko Ko made this announcement during a meeting held on January 8 at the UEC Office’s Conference Hall, where key discussions focused on the process of filling in household numbers and verifying population lists at the ground level.

The UEC is currently taking comprehensive steps to ensure the preparedness of the upcoming election, with the accuracy and completeness of the voter list being a critical component. Chairman U Ko Ko emphasized that the voter list will be compiled based on data from the Ministry of Immigration and Population, using Form 66/6, along with two on-site population lists provided by the General Administration Department.

The UEC has already integrated the population lists into the CVLMS, and close cooperation between the commission and the General Administration Department is essential for this process. This collaboration will ensure the completeness of the voter list, streamline voter access to polling stations, and facilitate the on-ground verification of population records. Chairman U Ko Ko also highlighted the importance of receiving support from regional and state governments to aid in the verification process.

The meeting also included discussions on the verification activities and procedures to be carried out in cooperation with various ministries. The Deputy Director General of the UEC Office presented steps to ensure household numbers are properly recorded when compiling the voter list, aligned with designated polling stations.

The session concluded with a detailed presentation, followed by Chairman U Ko Ko’s closing remarks. The meeting was attended by UEC members, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Immigration and Population, as well as regional and state election officials.
