Myanmar Expands Mobile Network with 27 New Base Stations and 4G Upgrades in Eight Regions and States

Myanmar’s Ministry of Digital Development and Communications has completed the construction of 27 new mobile base stations across eight regions and states, while upgrading nine existing stations to the 4G LTE network.

The ministry held an opening ceremony for a new mobile base station in Gway Pin Yoe Village, Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory, on July 12.

According to the ministry, Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) completed the installation of the 27 new base stations and the 4G LTE upgrades at nine existing stations within the planned implementation period, aiming to improve telecommunications coverage and service quality.

The inauguration ceremony for the Gway Pin Yoe Village mobile base station was attended by Deputy Minister for Digital Development and Communications U Thet Win Aung, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, government officials, MPT staff, and local residents. The new facility was officially opened by the deputy minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Tun Tun.
