Two border guards from No.41 police outpost in Rakhine State have been injured during an attack by unknown gunmen from the border fence on January 24, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Information.

The gunmen attacked the police outpost using rocket launchers and guns around 7:45 am and two policemen and one worker had small injuries, said the announcement.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Bangladesh Ambassador to inform about the attack. Myanmar and Bangladesh are neighbouring countries with a good relation and Bangladesh set policy which is not accepted terrorism. Myanmar asked Bangladesh to take necessary action on the attackers who are using the territory of Bangladesh to attack Myanmar police outpost.

Arakan Army (AA) also attacked an army column and border guard police force near the border fence on January 15.
