The Shweli Bridge security post on the Mansi-Namhkam road connecting Kachin State and northern Shan State was attacked and a battle between the Tatmadaw and the TNLA in Namhkam town was reported on November 3.

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) attacked the security post of Shweli Bridge and occupied the area. The army's reinforcements and the TNLA forces clashed this morning in Aung Myattha Ward of Namhkam Township. It is reported that the locals were trapped and a child was hit by a weapon.

"The battle is happening very early in the morning. We heard that a child got injuries. I can't go anywhere now. We have to stay at home. Tatmadaw asked for air support. The fighting is intense," a resident told Eleven Media.

On November 2, TNLA attacked the police outpost on the Shweli Bridge connecting Namhkam town and Manwaingyi town, and the TNLA announced that they attacked the military post near the bridge again and seized the base.

The Shweli suspension bridge that connects Namhkam town and Manwaingyi town is a main bridge connecting Shan State and Kachin State. Due to the current fighting in northern Shan State, the North Shan Union Highway is closed and the residents are using the bridge to go through Namhkam- Manwaingyi-Nantpa-Bhamo.

In addition, it is reported that armed groups attacked Mongpaw area of Muse Township on the morning of November 3 and armed groups attacked the military base in the 105 mile trade zone at around 10:30 am on November 3 with drones.
