The Union Election Commission announced on August 20 that the Multi-Party Democracy General Election Phase (1) to be held on December 28, 2025 will be held in (102) townships.

The Multi-Party Democracy General Election Phase (1) to be held on December 28, 2025 will be held in (6) townships in Kachin State, namely Tanai, Khaung Lan Phu, Naung Moon, Putao, Mohnyin, Myitkyina; (2) townships in Kayah State, namely Baw La Khe, Loikaw; (3) townships in Kayin State, namely Hpa-an, Myawaddy and Thandaung Gyi; (2) townships in Chin State, namely Tedim, and  Hakha; (12) townships in Sagaing Region such as Lay Shi, La He, Nan Yun, Kalay, Katha, Kantbalu, Khanti, Sagaing, Tamu, Monywa, Shwebo, Homalin.

In addition, there are (4) townships in Tanintharyi Region: Kawthaung, Dawei, Bok Syed, Myeik, (8) townships in Bago Region: Nyaung Laybin, Taungoo, Nat Talin, Bago, Pyi, Shwe Taung, Letpandan, and Thayarwady, (9) townships in Magway Region: Chauk, Yenangyaung, Pakokku, Taung Dwin Gyi, Magway, Pwint Phyu, Minbu, Thayet, and Aung Lan, (8) townships in Mandalay Region: Kyaukse, Nyaung Oo, Pyin Oo Lwin, Chan Aye Tharzan, Meikhtila, Pyaw Bwe, Yamethin, and Aung Myay Tharzan, (5) townships in Mon State: Kyaikhto, Kyaikmaraw, Chaungsone, Mawlamyine, and Thahton, (3) townships in Rakhine State: Kyauk Phyu, Sittwe, Myan Aung included in the Phase 1 of the multi-party democratic general election to be held on 28 December 2025.

Similarly, the following (12) townships in Yangon Region are Kamayut, Kyauktada, Taikyi, Twante, Dagon Myothit (South), Botahtaung, Mayangone, Mingalardon, Hmawbi, Thingangyun, Thanlyin, and Ahlone; the following (12) townships in Shan State are Pindaya, Hopon, Nawnghkio, Kengtung, Tachileik, Taunggyi, Nam San, Muse, Mong Sat, Lashio, Linkhey, and Loilein; the following (8) townships in Ayeyarwady Region are Kyong Pyaw, Pathein, Maubin, Myaung Mya, Kyankhin, Myan Aung, Laputta, and Hinthada; and the following (12) townships in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area are Zeyathiri, Pubbathiri, Zambuthiri, Eight (8) townships, including Pyinmana, Dakkhinathiri, Leway, Tatkone, and Uttarathiri, have been declared to be included in Phase (1) of the multi-party democratic general election to be held on December 28, 2025.
