Seven NCA signatories, four non-signatories attend Diamond Jubilee Union Day

Myanmar celebrated Diamond Jubilee Union Day 2022 at Boshukhan Square in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on February 12.

The event commenced at 5.30 am with a State Flag hoisting ceremony, and the columns from the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air) and various ministries marched towards and took positions at the square of the venue at about 7 am.

Next, State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the venue and took the salute of the columns. Then, the saluting ceremony for the Diamond Jubliee Union Day Flag took place.  

The whole event was concluded at about 10.30 am.

During his speech on the occasion, the Senior General said the event was attended by representatives of the seven nationwide ceasefire agreement signatory ethnic armed organizations and four non-signatory EAOs. He reiterated his invitation to all stakeholders as the peace goal would continue in line with the democratic practices based on seeking solutions through dialogue.  

According to the news released by the SAC, most of the EAOs sent their representatives with their political leading role rather than military leading role.

About two representatives of each EAO attended the event.
