Recurrence clashes in southern Myawaddy caused Phalu locals flee to Thailand

Recurrence clashes in Lay Kay Kaw Myothit in south of Myawaddy forced Phalu locals to flee from their homes to Thailand on February 16.

Clashes between military and ethnic armed forces broke out at 3:00 pm on February 16.  According to locals, shelling of heavy weapons forced the villagers to flee to Thailand. A church was destroyed by shelling after they heard the sound of military plane.

Travelling in the area was prohibited and even the donations to IDPs were unable to make. More than 10,000 people fled from their homes since the clashes started on December 15. But, recurrence clashes on February 16, 2022 forced them to flee again.
