Police shoots, apprehends sword-wielding Kyimyindaing man

The Myanmar Police Force said that in Kyimyindaing township a sword-wielder was shot by the police for resisting when the police tried to apprehend him.     

It happened on 14 Nov. in Setsan ward, Kyimyindaing township, that Zaw Zaw Myo (a) Chetkyee, aged 25, slashed Lin Htein, another local, with a sword and injuring Lin Htein with grievous life-threatening injuries on his face, hand and body.    

Furthermore as Zaw Zaw Myo went about with the sword and terrorizing people in the ward, the police arrived and found Zaw Zaw Myo at the corner of Natshinaung street holding a 28- inch long sword and shouting abusive language.     

When the police told Chetkyee to drop his sword and surrender, he said that he would attack the police and subsequently ran at a policeman. A policeman shouted his final warning and shot at Chetkyee, wounding him at the waist, and eventually apprehended him.     

The Myanmar Police Force stated that the criminal had committed a crime and resisted apprehension by law enforcement police force and so they had to act  in accordance with criminal act law 46.
