Police arrest bank robber in North Dagon

Police arrested a bank robber, who had threatened a bank staff with a gun to rob Ks60 million, in North Dagon Township, announced the police force on February 11.

The armed robbery occurred at a Co-operative Bank (CB) branch in North Dagon Township on February 7 and the robber took over Ks 60 million from the bank.

Police lodged a complaint against the bank robber under Section 392 of the Penal Code at North Dagon Township police station.

Police hunted down the suspect and found Soe Kyaw Kyaw lived in No. 33 ward in North Dagon Township along with the vehicle used in robbery.

Police said they seized part of the money taken from the bank.

The suspect confessed he committed the crime because he urgently needed money and he used fake gun and bomb, it said.
