Communication access to Paletwa Township, Chin State is not cut off, said Director General Myo Swe of Directorate of Telecommunications.

“The communication access is not cut off and only internet access is cut off. There may be a fault in communication line,” he said.

Salai Myo Htike, MP of Paletwa Constituency said he cannot make contact with locals from Paletwa.

“We can make contact with Samee but not to Paletwa. I can call to Paletwa yesterday night,” said the MP.

Fighting between Arakan Army (AA) and the army intensified in Paletwa and the army is using airstrikes.

The government cut off internet access in Rakhine State and Paletwa and people are demanding the government to re-provide internet access in those townships.
