Over 10,000 tourists visits Myanmar through Myawady

More than 10,000 tourists from third party countries that visited Myanmar through Myawady international gate within a four-months time this year and over 7,000 out of more than 10,000 tourists left for Thailand via the gate in the same period, sources said.

More foreigners entered Myanmar in March and the fewest in April.

Although over 8,500 Myanmar citizens visited Thailand with visit visas and only over 5,000 of them came back to Myanmar. Some of them didn’t come back and overstayed in Thailand to work illegally. They are arrested by Thai authorities frequently.

Myanmar is opened an international gate in Myawady on August 28 2013 for tourists and some tourists are applied e-visas through online to visit Myanmar.
