The ministry achieved its goal of satisfying up to 50 per cent of nationwide power demand at the end of 2019.

The ministry is making efforts to satisfy 75 per cent of power demand in 2025 and 100 per cent in 2030.

In order to satisfy the increasing power demand, the ministry plans to generate an additional 1,166 MW soon.
