Myanmar’s Construction Minister and Egypt’s Ambassador discuss development of roads, bridges, and housing

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant received Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Myanmar Mrs Aya Saad Mohamed Abdelkarim at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on January 19.

At the meeting, they exchanged views on further cementing Myanmar-Egypt friendly relations, work processes to be implemented for  the socio-economic life of the people, and participation in infrastructural investment, measures for development of roads, bridges and urban and housing sectors.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry and the Egyptian Embassy to Myanmar. Similarly, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, Daw Than Than Swe met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Myanmar, Mrs Aya Saad Mohamed Abdelkarim oat the same day on separate occasion.

They discussed measures on opening of accounts at local banks and issues related to foreign exchange. The meetings were also attended by the Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Myanmar, the Permanent Secretary and departmental heads.

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Lwin Oo received Mrs Aya Saad Mohamed Abdelkarim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon of January 19.

During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on further enhancement of existing friendly bilateral relations, mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, education and culture sectors, implementation of the existing bilateral agreements and resumption of ongoing negotiations for cooperation agreements, and enhancement of collaboration both in the regional and multilateral arenas.
