Myanmar saw 4,132 new Covid-19 cases in a single day after total samples of 14,284 had been tested from August 4 at 8:00 pm to August 5 at 8:00 pm, with 293 more deaths, the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) reported at 8pm news hours of August 5.
Therefore, Myanmar has now confirmed cases of 319,250 with 293 deaths were reported on that day bringing the death toll to 10,988 since the outbreak.
On August 5, 4,459 patients were discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total numbers of patients recovered and discharged to 230,308 according to MOHS.
On August 5, the labs run by the MOHS reported of 220 confirmed cases; testing using with GeneXpert in the hospitals in various regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw had 57confirmed cases, No (1) Defense Services Hospital in Yangon 175 cases; No-2 Military Hospital (1000 Bed) Nay Pyi Taw reported 194 confirmed cases, No-1 Military Hospital ( 700 Bed) Pyin Oo Lwin) reported 6 positive cases, No (9) Defence Services Hospital Lashio (100 Bed hospital) reported 43 confirmed cases; private hospitals and labs 55 cases; hospitals in various regions and states when tested with COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic 671 cases; and public health departments in Nay Pyi taw Council, States and Region 2,711 confirmed cases.
