Myanmar Railways operates some train services which were stopped during COVID-19 pandemic according to Myanmar Railway.
Letpandan to Tharawaw local train services operated on September 16. It will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the week.
Pathein-Hinthada-Kyankhin (upstream-downstream) train was also come into service again on September 11. The ceremony to re-start the Pathein-Hinthada-Kyankhin was held at the Pathein station on the morning of September 11.
Similarly, Taunggyi-Banyin (upstream-downstream) train in Taunggyi-Seikkhaung railway was also operating again on September 1 at Taunggyi. The operation was stopped in second week of February 2021 during COVID-19 pandemic. According to local’s demand, Taunggyi-Banyin railway was upgraded. Depending on the public use of train services, it is planned to operate Taunggyi-Seikkhaung railway.
The upstream train no-153 will leave Taunggyi at 2:30 pm and arrive Banyin station at 4:50 pm while downstream no-154 train will leave from Banyin station at 5:30 am and arrive 8:00 am to Taunggyi. It will stop at the stations in Pharmon, Naungkhar, Hamsee, Katku and Banyin along the route. Myanmar Railway has added an express train at the Yangon-Pyae section and three trains at the Yangon-Mandalay section.
