Myanmar exported more than 12,800 tons of rice worth US$ 5.042 million via maritime trade from July 16 to 22 and China is the largest buyer with 6,290 tons of rice, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

Myanmar exported 11,480 tons of rice to Asian countries and over 1,330 tons of rice to EU members.

Myanmar exported 6,290 tons of rice to China, 4,810 tons of rice to Philippines, 175 tons of rice to Taiwan, over 150 tons of rice to Hong Kong, and 50 tons of rice to Singapore. It exported over 420 tons of rice to Germany, 300 tons of rice to Libya, 260 tons of rice to Slovenia, 25 tons of rice to Czech Republic and 100 tons of rice to Croatia.

During the time, about 3,600 tons of rice worth US$ 1.344 million was exported to China via Myanmar-China border. The total exports via maritime and border trades were 16,410 tons of rice worth US$ 6.386 million.

In this week, over 3,200 tons of broken rice from the Myanmar-China border and over 350 tons of broken rice from the Myanmar-Thailand border were exported and earned US$ 1.165 million.

From July 16 to 22, Myanmar exported over 3,350 tons of broken rice to China, 25 tons of broken rice to Singapore and 1,000 tons of broken rice to Belgium, earning US$ 1.547 million. The total exports via maritime and border trades were 7,930 tons of broken rice worth US$ 2.712 million.

During the period, Myanmar exported 24,350 tons of rice and broken rice exports and earned US$ 9.097 million.

From January to the end of December, 2021, Myanmar earned US$ 687.2 million from rice and broken rice exports, according to the figures from the Ministry of Commerce.

In 2021, Myanmar earned US$ 96.2 million in January, US$ 45 million in February, US$ 42.4 million in March, US$ 47.5 million in April, US$ 72.8 million in May, US$ 74.7 million in June, US$ 18 million in July, US$ 18.8 million in August, US$ 38.2 million in September, US$ 56.2 million in October, US$ 72.2 million in November and US$ 105.1 million from rice and broken rice exports.
