Myanmar evacuates 95 citizens from Germany

Yangon--Myanmar evacuated 95 Myanmar citizens including 89 stranded Myanmar sailors from Germany by special flight.

In accordance with the directives of the Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on the evacuation of citizens in cooperation with relevant ministries and Myanmar embassies.

Myanmar brought back 89 citizens stranded on AIDA perla and AIDA blu cruise ships in Hamburg of Germany by special flight arranged by the AIDA Company in Germany. They arrived back at Yangon International Airport on 4 June.

To date, Myanmar has brought back 2,929 citizens from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh, Singapore, U.S, UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, UAE, Qarata, Italy, Vietnam, the Philippines and Germany by relief flights.

Myanmar has extended the suspension of international flights which started on 30 March, until 15 June, according to the statement by the Ministry of Health and Sports and Directorate of Civil Aviation.
