A high level Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing departed for the Russian Federation this morning on an official friendship visit.
The delegation includes senior officials from the State Administration Council, union ministers, and high ranking military officials. The visit comes at the official invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the visit, the Senior General will attend the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and related ceremonies and hold separate talks with State leaders who will join the ceremony.
In addition to attending the anniversary celebrations, the visit aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between Myanmar and Russia across various sectors, including government to government relations, economic collaboration and security partnership.
Likewise, at the invitation of Mrs Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, will attend the ceremony along with the Senior General. During the visit, she will talk with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
