Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Than Swe, received Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions to further strengthen the longstanding Pauk-Phaw relations between Myanmar and China. They emphasized the importance of accelerating mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors, including maintaining peace and stability along the Myanmar-China border, the latest developments in Myanmar’s peace and national reconciliation process, and China’s continued support for sustainable peace and socioeconomic development in Myanmar, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
The MOFA’s statement also reported that the two sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration between relevant agencies to tackle the growing challenges of online gambling and telecommunications fraud networks in border areas. Additionally, they reaffirmed their mutual support in regional and multilateral forums and underscored the importance of cooperation on matters of shared interest.
