Muse border trade earns less in three months

Muse border trade center, the major border trade hub of Myanmar, earned US$1.09 billion within an over three-months time from October 1 to January 11 in 2018-19 FY, less than US$600 million in compared with the same period in last year, according to statistics from Ministry of Commerce.

Myanmar earned US$2.135 billion in that period and it is less than US$73 billion in compared with the same period in last year.

Myanmar has 17 border trade centers and they are Muse, Lweje, Chinshwehaw, Kanpiketie, Kengtung, Techilek, Myawady, Kawthoung, Myeik, Nabule/ Htikhi, Mawtaung, Maese, Sittwe, Maungdaw, Tamu, Reik and Htantalan.

Dr Than Myint, Union Minister for Commerce, during 24th meeting of Myanmar Pulses, Beans & Sesame Seeds Merchants Association held on December 29 that said they will import more goods which can provide development of economy in addition to export more products and to increase the quality of goods to improve oversea trade.
