More than 50 COVID-19 confirmed cases died in Pyay within one week

More than 50 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pyay (West Bago Region) died within one week and majority of them died unable to get oxygen at their homes according to philanthropists who are helping to get oxygen free of charge.



Since July 15, an average of over 10 people (confirmed cases) and more than 5 COVID-19 suspects died per day. The COVID-19 suspects were mostly died in their homes with lack of oxygen.



“At present, many houses have patients. We get calls from them continuously to help them with oxygen. Some died of lack of oxygen at their homes. They called us from last minute and we could do nothing. Most of the cases were because of unable to get oxygen,” said a philanthropist helping to get oxygen free of charge.



Youths and volunteers are helping people in Pyay privately or in groups to get oxygen but increasing of curfew hour made them difficult to help patients in need of oxygen.



In Pyay, Stat at Home order was issued on July 7. Since July 21, instruction was made to ride a bicycle when going out.
