MNA and MAI to fly relief flights to overseas countries

Myanmar National Airline (MNA) and Myanmar Airways International (MAI) are planning to fly relief flights to New Delhi, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, South Korea and Dubai during August and September, sources said.

The state owned MNA airline will fly to Manila on August 28 and New Delhi on August 29 to evacuate its citizens in the Philippines and India.

The MAI flew relief flights to Seoul on August 23 to evacuate 94 citizens from the United States and 30 citizens from South Korea. It also flew to Kuala Lumpur to carry passengers, who planned to go to Malaysia and brought back Myanmar citizens being stranded in the country. Furthermore, the airline is planning to fly Yangon-Dubai flights on September 1 and 2.

The government arranged 14 times relief flights to evacuate its citizens in Singapore, announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Officials from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Ministry of Health and Sports and Yangon Region government arranged them to stay 21-day quarantine after they arrived at Yangon International Airport.
