Mingala Market to reopen only after official confirmation: MP

Although arrangements have made to open all markets,  including Mingala Market in Mingala Taung Nyunt township, they can't be opened as yet as the Township has not given any response, said U Hla Htay, MP of Mingala Taung Nyunt township, constituency 1 to Daily Eleven on 14th January.     

He said, "It is not open.  Till now the City Development has not given any reply. Only after their response we will pick a day and open".     

It was intended to open all markets including Mingala Market after putting up the request to the township's covid committee and the township development committee. 'No objection' statement was given by the township covid committee and the markets were to open on 14th Jan. after getting guidelines from the committee.     

Regarding the reopening of the markets, the supervisor  of Mingala Market,  U Kyaw Soe Win, said that they will be opened only after getting instructions from the Ministry of Health and Sports.      

When the shops were closed it was fine under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Sports. Only when the Ministry of Health and Sports gives its instructions to reopen the shops will the market be open, said U Kyaw Soe Win.     

At the moment response is being awaited  to the request to reopen, and request is made to whoever is in a position to do what is needed, said U Hla Htay, MP of Mingala Taung Ngyunt township.    

U Hla Htay further said that the main reason for reopening the markets is to enable the vendors to make a living. To do so all those concerned are requested to play their part.  

In reopening the markets it has been decided that the markets will open at 8 AM and close at 4 PM. COVID prevention groups had been formed in every floor comprising shop owners.
