MIC chair calls for govt-private cooperation in conserving natural beauties in Taninthayi

As Taninthayi Region's main business is tourism, it is important for government and private sector to cooperate in efforts for long-term existence of natural resources and beauties in the region, said Myanmar Investment Commission chairman Thaung Tun. 

MIC chairman and Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Thaung Tun and Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Ohn Maung held a meeting with officials from Kawthoung Merchants Association, tourism entrepreneurs and local people on July 28. 

The chairman said the commission would provide necessary assistance for investors. 

As the region has many good prospects, tourism promotion requires sustainable progress and quality rather than quantity, Minister Thaung Tun commented. 

Taninthayi Region Investment Forum will be held in October so as to attract more investment. 

The MIC chairman stressed the need for the commission to ensure easy procedures for investment as it can contribute to all-round development of local populace.
