Meikhtila women robbed by motorcycle robbers

There are many cases of criminals that were usually riding motorbikes looting and attacking brazenly in broad daylight towards women on motorbikes.

They looted mobile phones and purses from the victims, most of them females, on motorbikes. On the evening of October 10, 25 years old Ei Phyo Thwe and her friend were travelling on a motorbike. At that time, two males on their own bikes follow them and later robbed them of Red Mi 5 mobile phone, a Samsung phone Prime A and a purse containing Ks.260, 000.

On October 2nd, Ohamma San (41 yrs) was also on her motorbike with her daughter. They were also followed and looted VIVO 609 mobile phone later on.

In both cases, the belongings of those women were robbed and looted during day. Many other cases that had occurred were also carried out at places where other passersby were around.

“Similar cases were occurred on October 14 and 15 respectively. Some had opened cases against the perpetrators but some had not. Most of the looting were targeted at women riding on motorbikes.” said Ko Soe from Yadanar Myan Aung ward in Meikhtila.
