Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is planning to rent two Embraer E190s to expand domestic and international flights and signed the agreement with CDB Aviation under the China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. to rent the planes in Singapore.

The MAI planned to fly the two Embraer planes in early August 2020 to introduce domestic and international flights.

The Airbus A319-100 plane bought by the MAI arrived in Yangon International Airport on December 26.

The MAI now has five A319 planes and one A320 in its fleet and has planned to add more planes to its fleet to run more overseas flights.

The airline is running from Yangon to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou and Kolkata using the six Airbus planes.

The MAI is running regular flights to South Korea, four times a week, by cooperating with Meebang Air Agencies starting from December 5.

Based at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, the MAI is providing regular flight services to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Gaya and Kolkata and chartered flight services to China.

The airline has temporarily suspended chartered services to ten cities in China except Yangon-Guangzhou direct flight and the airline provided options for the passengers of scheduled Guangzhou flights.

The MAI has canceled all chartered flights to China from January 31 till further notice to control COVID-19 virus started from Wuhan, China and to follow the instruction of aviation authorities.
