Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is planning to open courses related to the aviation field, including pilot training, in order to provide employment opportunities for Myanmar nationals in the aviation field, sources said.

"The airline, which is a Myanmar national airline, since its inception, is an airline that does not prioritize profit, but prioritizes passengers to reach their destination safely and peacefully. It has continuously flown flights without stopping even when Myanmar was hit by natural disasters and civil unrest. In addition, it is planning to open courses related to the aviation field, including pilot training, to provide employment opportunities for Myanmar citizens in the aviation field soon," said U Tin Maung Than, Director of Corporate Affairs for MAI and Air KBZ airlines.

It is reported that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the MAI was held and awards were given to partner companies.

The 30th anniversary celebration of the airline was held on August 15 at Lotte Hotel's Crystal Ballroom, and officials from various departments related to aviation, officials from the MAI and officials from partner companies in domestic and foreign countries attended.

"The airline, which is a Myanmar national airline, since its inception, is an airline that does not prioritize profit, but prioritizes passengers to reach their destination safely and peacefully. It has continuously flown flights without stopping even when Myanmar was hit by natural disasters and civil unrest. Especially during the high level of Covid-19 infection, it has flown non-stop relief flights despite many difficulties to help Myanmar citizens who are stuck abroad to return to their motherland without looking at the profit, said U Tin Maung Than.

The airline is not only a domestic and international flight operator, but also operates MAI Inflight Catering Services and Myanmar Auspicious Life Bakery & Kitchen to serve passengers traveling by plane with healthy food on board. In addition, it is planned to open pilot training and aviation-related courses with the aim of providing employment opportunities for Myanmar citizens in the field of aviation.
