A low pressure area may form over South Bay of Bengal and it may further intensify into a depression in first ten days of May, according to the forecast from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

A low pressure area may form over South Bay of Bengal and it may further intensify into a depression. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers will be below normal in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon states and about normal in  Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway regions and Kachin, Southern and Eastern Shan, Kayah states.

Rainy days are expected about 4 to 6 days in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon states and about 1 to 3 days in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady regions and Northern and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah states.

Day temperature will be 1.5°C or 35°F above normal of May average temperatures in Nay Pyi Taw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway,  Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayah states and about normal of May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon states.
