Mr. Maruyama, Japanese ambassador to Myanmar, praised State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for her brave decision to go and argue about Gambia’s charge against Myanmar and Tatmadaw for issuing a statement to investigate Gutarpyin case at Court-Martial.

The remarks of the Japanese ambassador came from the ceremony to mark completion of construction of houses donated by Nippon Foundation of Japan, which he was attending in Laykaekaw Myothit in Myawady District in Kayin State on November 27.

“Myanmar decided that the delegation led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is going to argue Gambia’s charge against Myanmar. I wish Myanmar delegation was successful. I suppose the decision very valuable,” said Mr. Maruyama, added that it’s very excellent Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, herself, is going to make the stance of the government clear. I hope the international community to understand her explanation.

Moreover, the statement issued by Tatmadaw to investigate the incident occurred near Gutarpyin, Buthidaung Township in Rakhine State at Court-Martial   is of importance, said Mr. Maruyama.

“Tatmadaw say the Court-Martial is going to investigate the incident happened near Gutarpyin village. Tatmadaw issued a statement saying the incident will be investigated at Court-Martial. I suppose the statement very crucial. I welcome and praise Tatmadaw for issuing the statement,” said Mr. Maruyama.

Tatmadaw should take severe actions against those who really have done inhuman acts after objectively investigating the last report of Gutarpyin, said Mr. Maruyama.
