President-Elect Nominates Dr. Khin Naing Oo as Central Bank Governor

The list of nominees for the Governor, Deputy Governors, and Board Members of the Central Bank of Myanmar was submitted at the Union Parliament session held today (April 7).

The President-elect proposed appointing Dr. Khin Naing Oo as Governor, along with U Zaw Myint Naing, U Thet Tun Aung, Dr. Sanda Oo, Dr. Yi Yi Aye, U Tin Myint, Dr. Hla Nyunt, Dr. Zaw Oo, and Dr. Phyu Phyu Ei as Deputy Governors and board members. The Speaker of the Union Parliament presented the list to lawmakers.

Among the nine nominees, Dr. Khin Naing Oo is designated as Governor, while U Zaw Myint Naing, U Thet Tun Aung, and Dr. Sanda Oo are proposed as Deputy Governors, according to the President-elect’s submission.

Parliament announced that if there are any objections to the proposed appointments, they may be raised for discussion. Otherwise, the appointments will be approved at the Union Parliament session scheduled for April 9.

Currently, Dr. Khin Naing Oo is serving as the Auditor General of the Union.
