Internal Revenue Department Office in Bilin attacked with bomb

A bomb attack was carried out on Bilin Township Internal Revenue Department in Mon State, yesterday early morning, according to the locals.

The Bilin Township Internal Revenue Department is located beside Bilin-Zokethoke road, Aung Chan Tha Kywatthit, in Kanthaya Ward, Bilin Township.

One of the Bilin dwellers said that they heard a loud voice of explosion around midnight and learnt that it occurred at the office of Internal Revenue Department.

Due to the bomb blast, portico ceilings, wooden doors as well as folds of the doors were damaged but there was no injury.  After the bomb blast, the security forces rushed to the scene and they conducted the investigations.

No one know which group carried out the bomb attack on the Bilin Township Internal Revenue Department.

Likewise, homemade mines exploded in Taunggyi and Taungsoon villages of Bilin Township in Mon State on April 16 (the last day of Maha Thingyan Festival) injuring four people including a ten-year-old, local sources said.
