120 Myanmar nationals stranded or imprisoned in Thailand return to Kawthaung

On June 10, 120 Myanmar nationals who were stranded or had served sentences in Thailand returned to Kawthaung in Taninthayi Region.  

The transfer from Ranong, Thailand, to Kawthaung, Myanmar, was facilitated through coordination between the authorities of both countries. Most of the returnees were migrant workers who had been stranded in Thailand for various reasons or had served sentences there.

Among the 120 returnees, there were 98 men and 22 women. Upon their arrival, they were received by departmental organizations, the health department, and NGOs, who recorded their personal details and administered COVID-19 vaccinations. Subsequently, they were systematically transported back to their respective hometowns.
