The household registration and national registration cards (NRCs) that were destroyed or lost during the evacuation of local residents were reissued in Nawnghkio Township, according to sources.
On August 12, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing visited Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State and observed the staff of the Nawnghkio Township Office of the Ministry of Immigration and Population conducting the one stop service for issuing NRCs to students at No. (1) Basic Education High School in Nawnghkio Township under the Pankhin Project Level (3), collecting biographic and biometric data from those who have already obtained NRCs and issuing them Unique ID numbers, and students studying in classrooms.
Through this, the minister inspected the work of re-issuing the household registration and NRCs that were destroyed or lost during their evacuation to the local ethnic people who returned to Nawnghkio township, by the staff of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, Nawnghkio Township Headquarters, which has opened a temporary office at the Nawnghkio Township Sasana Beikman, and handed over the NRCs that had been processed through one stop service to the relevant stakeholders.
He continued by inspecting the status of biographic and biometric data collection and issuance of Unique ID numbers to those who had already received NRCs, and greeted the local people who came to collect the household registration and NRCs.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the temporary offices of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, Kyaukme District and Township Headquarters, Namtu and Hsipaw Township Headquarters, which are also located in the Beikman, and met with the staff to make arrangements for the reopening of township offices in the relevant towns. He ordered that the needs of the work be reported to the responsible levels.
Then, he visited the Nawnghkio Township Headquarters, which was damaged by fire due to the violent incidents in Nawnghkio, and coordinated with local authorities to rebuild the office.
He then visited the Sein Yadana Monastery in Nawnghkio to inspect the temporary accommodation of male employees in Kyaukme District and ordered that officials provide for the employees' living and eating facilities.
