MANDALAY------One died and four were injured in the explosions of homemade mines occurred in Aungmyaythazan, Mataya and Amayapura Townships in Mandalay Region, according to the announcement of Myanmar Police Force.

As a blast took place at Uboaktaw Ward, Aungmyaythazan Township, in the morning of January 28th, the security force conducted interrogations. Unknown two men on the motorbike threw homemade sound bomb at the ward and then they run away. A bomb dropped between two houses and exploded. Due to the blast, two women were wounded and they were sent to the Mandalay General Hospital.

Similarly, an explosion occurred at a house situated in Thebyuchaung village in Mataya Township, in the evening of January 28th. The police reported that Kyaw Htet living in Thebyuchaung village bought the empty bottles and tines and then he piled the empty bottles and tines at his house. However, homemade mine exploded in the empty bottles. So, Kyaw Htet died on the spot due to the blast and then two nearby residents were injured and they were taken to the Mataya People’s Hospital.

On the same day, another blast occurred at the compound of Yadanabon University in Htantaw Ward, Taungthaman village, Amayapura Township. The security forces conducted interrogations and they said that two men on the motorbike threw homemade sound bomb at the University. The bomb dropped between the gymnasium and wall of the University and it exploded. But, there was no injury and damage.
