Home-made bomb attack on fire station injures two in Shwebo

A home-made bomb was thrown at Shwebo District Fire Station in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, and a deputy head of the fire station and a staff family member were reportedly injured by shrapnel on November 8.

On the morning of November 8, two PDF members drove a motorbike into the compound of Shwebo District Fire Station in Ward No. 4, threw a home-made bomb and ran away, causing it to explode near the security checkpoint. In the bomb attack, the front windshield of a water bowser and the windshield of the station building were damaged while the deputy head of the fire station and the wife of a sergeant were wounded by shrapnel. They were sent to Shwebo Township People’s Hospital for treatment.

Similarly, on the morning of November 8 in Pinkyunhla Township, Ko Myo Thet Oo, aged 23, of the village in Pekong (South) was working in a field about 1 furlong east of the village when he stepped on a home-made mine and exploded. He was hospitalized.

On the evening of November 8 also, U Myo Myat, aged 51, from Thebyuchaung Village, Sagaing Township, was at his home when two PDFs arrived on a motorcycle and ran away after opening fire. He was sent to Mandalay General Hospital for treatment as he sustained a bullet wound to the left cheek, according to police sources.
