Holidays extended from September 1 to 10 to curb COVID-19 pandemic

Public holidays have been extended from September 1 to 10 to curb COVID-19 pandemic, announced the State Administration Council (SAC).

The decree states that the SAC announced public holidays for six times to break the chain of COVID-19 infection by adhering to the rules set during public holidays.

The period has been extended as a public holiday according to the Article 25 of the Contract Act, which allows for the control of the COVID-19 infection and the return to normalcy as soon as possible (excluding the Central Bank of Myanmar and its affiliated banks and private banks), it said.

Similarly, the Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 announced the temporary closure of basic education schools, private schools and monastic education schools from September 1 to 10 to control and prevent the COVID-19 virus.
