A joint team of Anti-Narcotics Police seized 17.6 kilos of heroin worth 440 million kyats hidden in soap cups from a car in Mandalay City on January 9, 2024.
The car driver, Hla Thein (aka) Sai Maung Thein, and two other suspects, Zaw Win Htut and Ye Min Hlaing, were arrested for their involvement in the heroin trafficking.
The heroin was allegedly being transported from Shan State to Mandalay Region.
The authorities are taking legal action against the suspects and continuing to investigate the network of offenders.
