TAUNGOO- Over 30,000 stimulant tablets and bags of heroin stored in soap cups were found inside a car that was usually used to ferry rectors and professors from the Computer University in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, according to the Taungoo Police Station.

The rector from Taungoo Computer University called to inform the Police Station the drugs were found in the vehicle yesterday night.

A team led by Police Major Htay Win arrived on scene to check the vehicle under the instruction of Taungoo District Police Force.

According to a internal missive dated on October 22nd , the Higher Education Department (Nay Pyi Taw) under the Ministry of Education will be sharing vehicles with those used to transport the rectors and professors from Taungoo Computer University.

On October 26th, the Higher Education Department informed the Admin Department from Taungoo Computer University to bring the vehicles over. An officer from the Admin Department brought the TOYOTA MARK II vehicle. And then was sent to be maintained at the Wiring Shop located in No 13 Ward in Taungoo Township in the evening of October 29th.

It was then that suspicious looking packages were found.

“There are no suspects. The drugs were found in a vehicle that was given to be used for Computer University. Those seized vehicles were distributed to the Ministry of Education. Currently, it is under investigation,” said the official from Taungoo District Police Force yesterday.

Now, No.1 Police Station in Taungoo Township is making detail investigations concerning the drugs.
