The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a warning that due to the possibility of atmospheric disturbances in the Bay of Bengal and the arrival of monsoon winds, scattered rains and heavy rains are likely in some regions and states from May 10 to 15.

According to the announcement, due to the possibility of atmospheric disturbances in the Andaman Sea and the southern Bay of Bengal and the arrival of monsoon winds, rains and thundershowers will be scattered from fairly widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and northern Shan states from May 10 to May 15, and widespread in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady, Tanintharyi regions, Kayah, Kayin, Mon and southern and eastern Shan states, with isolated heavy fall in some areas.

Due to this, the DMH has warned that natural disasters such as strong winds, thunder, lightning, hail, flash floods and landslides may occur accompanied by heavy rains. Those living near highlands in these areas should be aware of the risk of landslides, those living near small rivers and streams should be aware of floods and inundations, and domestic navigation and aviation should be aware of the risk.
